As an interior designer, this client truly collaborated to assure the success of this home. Simple, but pleasing, details are incorporated throughout to create a consistent theme from room-to-room and from inside-to-outside. The area of the kitchen was maximized by incorporating an efficient service island - between the cooking and washing stations - which doubles countertop space. This island is topped with a pleasing marble top, complimenting the remaining countertops, and enhanced by a linear hanging light fixture. A simple color palette assures that all surfaces and spaces contribute to the overall aesthetic and work to visually expand the spaces.

These 'empty-nest' client were seeking a Cape Code inspired home that afforded them single floor living. All day to day amenities are on the main level including a secluded master suite - located off of the great room, light filled home office, and generous laundry room. The second floor remains exclusively for visiting guests and family. Cape Cod style is consistent with the use of this house the second floor is de-emphasized by being incorporated into the roof. Manipulating the traditional Cape Cod plan creates dramatic views and a secluded patio connected to the maser bedroom, great room, and family room.
